WHAT WE DO

Young Film Makers gives young people the chance to make films on summer holiday and weekend filmmaking courses. So far we've welcomed lots of young filmmakers on our children's activity courses. Our holiday courses regularly sell out and many of our young filmmakers come back year after year.

Young Film Makers is all about having a go and getting involved. We believe the best way to learn is by doing. No experience is necessary. Everyone can be creative and young people of all abilities have enjoyed our filmmaking courses. They become skilled filmmakers, able to create effective stories, develop filmmaking techniques, camera work, directing and acting for film and TV. They achieve so much because they have learnt by practical experience. They deserve to be very proud of their achievements.

Our aim is to provide the support to enable creativity to blossom through filmmaking. We believe our inclusive learning environment brings out the very best in our young people. Through the process of making films, they work together, take on responsibility and learn to express themselves confidently, all skills that stand them in good stead for the rest of their lives.

Above all we want our young filmmakers to enjoy themselves in a supportive and safe environment. Our staff have experience of working with children, acting and filmmaking and we have a high staff to child ratio. Our courses are also overseen by a member of staff who is not directly teaching and is responsible for welfare. Our staff are CRB checked and we have child protection guidelines in place. If you have any questions about what we do, please contact us and we will be happy to discuss them with you.
